 ]Earlier on, i submitted "The Jester," a drawing that i mentioned i had used as a door design for my favourite art teacher's door ... well, here is the product! I know it's kinda late that i submitted this but it's because i haven't been able to pop into the room as freely as i could before because it is now occupied by a new teacher. I'm just thankful that she preserved a bunch of the work that we had done and this includes turp's wall, and chikinnuget's door ... This was just a labor of love. Instead of following the assignment and painting a ceiling tile, nikkolz and I took up our teacher's invitation to decorate a door each. We did it not for the grade but simply because our hearts are forever willingly tied to art and expression ... The weeks that we spent on these doors were just plain awesome and i'm grateful to mr. gonzales for letting us do this ... WHEREVER YOU ARE MR. G, THANK YOU! WE ALL MISS YOU! The idea started off with me experimenting with a cirque-du-soleil - ish image and as i started to further it, a theme and reason came into my head: The Jester represents each and one of us all. Everyday we wear a mask that is meant to amuse and please everyone, for the sake of not being an outcast. Sometimes we overdo it and behind that mask, we yearn to do things that come to us on instinct but we can't. We restrain ourselves, in our actions and in our speech. Hence, her strung-up lips ... All that's left when we keep on restraining ourselves to please the whims of others and society is our anguish behind all that color. I'm not saying that we should all just throw away our responsibilities and go willy-nilly ... I'm not calling for utter anarchy for that would be our disastrous downfall. All I'm trying to relay is that as a human being and an individual, you owe it to yourself to be true to your heart and not put on false pretenses in an effort to get in with the crowd. Be proud to stand out because it means that you actually believe in yourself enough to bring out into the world the real you ... medium: brushes, the door (duh), acrylic paint (note me if you want to use this ... thieves and rippers are SCUM) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
